How to get the most from the Internet ...

More and more resources are moving to the web and other Internet based tools. This is an introduction of some of the information that's available. Do try to learn what's there -- and if you're not online yourself, consider finding a "buddy" to help keep you "in the loop". Once you've explored these resources, I hope you'll be prepared to go off and visit the hundreds of other resources, the ones that are important to you, that we just don't have time to list here.

Online Publications Do you appreciate an editor's contribution to shaping information, but do you also need information electronically to make it easier to share? If what you want is in these documents, just send the links - no need to copy the content into e-mail. List of online publications.	Online Communications The Association and North Carolina both use electronic communications extensively. Aside from their web sites there are a number of mailing lists in use and other tools are coming online to facilitate member-to-member and member-to-staff communications. Membership Resources As you work towards the very important goal of increasing membership, make sure that you're aware of all the resources that the Association makes available. This section includes pointers to the Association web site as well as local tips and tricks. Check out membership resources.	Program Resources Where are the issue initiatives of old? Well, times have changed, and programming from the Association doesn't look the same, but there are still a number of resources around which to build branch programs and projects. Review the programming information.
Public Policy Resources For those interested in public policy, the Association offers a wealth of resources, from position papers, to e-mail announcement lists to online advocacy tools. Get the full benefit of your membership dollars and increase the power of our lobbying efforts by taking advantage of the public policy tools.	Forms The Association is using the web site more and more to allow you to change your contact information, request materials, make contributions. Online "ordering" saves them money and may be more reliable than a phone or e-mail request. Check out the available forms.
Directories With all those resources, though, sometimes you just need to be in contact with a real person. Here are the national and state directories that will put in you in touch with folks.	What else do you need to know ? Now there are lots of resources in completely different areas that you can find on the web, but this section is more about what background information do you need, what classes might you consider, or what words do you use to recruit help.
