Association
Many of the state leaders (president, membership, program, public policy, EF, LAF, college/university, international) are subscribed to mailing lists that support the work of their counterparts across the country. For the last few years, important announcements from the Association have gone out on those lists first. It is an important part of the state officer's job to keep "in the loop" on these messages and forward information to their branch counterparts and to members at large.
Some lists are, however, open to all and newer lists/tools are emerging that do not depend on the flow of information through the hierarchy, but facilitate member-to-member communication.
